Detox Dance Party

Detox Dance Party

CURRENTLY...

playing the new Calvin Harris album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, on repeat while rocking my new favorite face mask, Consonant DHE Mask, and busting a move around the house.

I am by no means a big Calvin Harris fan. TBH, the only time he was ever on my radar was when he was dating T. Swift. But my hubby turned me on to this album + it's just one dance party after another. I was hooked by the first song, Slide. It features the effortlessly-talented Frank Ocean and has such an irresistible beat to groove to. The next standout is Rollin' featuring Future and Khalid. I am 1,000% guilty of cranking it embarrassingly loud in my car whenever I'm cruising toddler-free (really resisted a "rollin" pun there, guys). I get annoyed when "Feels" gets stuck in my head, the Katy Perry track in which she does her best Gwen Stefani impression, but I'll also admit that it has that quintessential quirky beat that every summer single seems to have, thus making it really fun to dance to. My last favorite of the album is Faking It, featuring Kehlani and Lil Yachty (so hot right now). It has a slow sexy beat to it that makes me look at my husband with those, "If I weren't so exhausted right now..." eyes. Front to back, a stellar summer album that feels right at any moment...except maybe when I'm on Mommy Duty. For that, I am praying Calvin drops a radio-friendly version ASAP!

So if you're kicking it around the house for the above-mentioned dance party, why not be simultaneously productive and give your skin the good feels, too?

The mask to try: Consonant DHE Mask

The details: A 100% natural mask from Canadian brand Consonant with a unique formulation that allows it to detoxify, hydrate and exfoliate. And it somehow delivers amazing results on all three counts: my pores are vacuumed clean, I have renewed texture, but I don't experience any of the dryness I usually do with a heavy detox mask. Normally I have to wash a clay or charcoal mask off before it fully dries to avoid dry, flaky patches but this mask I can literally leave on OVERNIGHT, wash off the next morning, and have thoroughly softened skin.

Star ingredients: Manicouagan clay (extracted from the site of a 215 million year old asteroid crash in Quebec - a seriously Google-worthy detail), willow bark, and tea tree extracts to detoxify + clarify; Cassia Angustifolia, grade seed oil, and olive oil to nourish + hydrate; fruit enzyme AHA to exfoliate.
